This site aims to distribute (1) the science data acquired by IODP expeditions of D/V CHIKYU as well as (2) the curatorial records associated with DSDP, ODP and IODP sample materials stored in KCC. All the scientific data record in the J-CORES database as well as data files are available for downloading from this site. More details.
ChangeLog should be referred to know how this site has been updated.
Integrated Ocean Drilling Program Sample, Data, and Obligations Policy outlines the policy for distributing Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP), Ocean Drilling Program (ODP), and Deep Sea Drilling Project (DSDP) samples and data
.
The moratorium period is one year long and begins either (1) after the conclusion of an expedition cruise if the majority of the sampling occurred during the cruise or (2) after the conclusion of the expedition onshore sampling party (onshore science party in case of the mission-specific platform).
During the moratorium period, the only researchers permitted to receive expedition core materials and data are members of the Science Party.
Expedition data are available online
after the moratorium period.
Hole locations are available in KML (Show it by using Google Maps).

J-CORES is a scientific data management system in order to store and distribute science data taken on Chikyu shipboard.
The IODP is developing a web based information service Scientific Earth Drilling Information Service (SEDIS) - to facilitate access to all data and information related to scientific ocean drilling, regardless of origin or location of data. SEDIS will be designed to integrate distributed scientific drilling data via metadata. The three main data contributors to SEDIS currently are the IODP implementing organizations (IOs) from the United States (USIO), Japan (CDEX) and Europe with Canada (ESO). Each IO uses its own drilling platform and data management system. Initially SEDIS will integrate the data search of the IO databases by harvesting distributed metadata without the necessity to centralize the data storage.
The Site Survey Data Bank (SSDB) is a repository for digital site survey data submitted in support of Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) proposals, expeditions and related activities.
supports the curator in managing the submission, review, and approval process for requests for DSDP/ODP/IODP materials and/or IODP onshore/onboard measurement data. Individual requests will be reviewed, edited, and saved in the system.
Proposal Database System version 2.0 (PDB 2.0) is available for your proposal submission. The PDB 2.0 provides a user-friendly web-based interface for completing and submitting electronic proposal information.
Logging data collected in DSDP, ODP, and in IODP by the USIO, ESO and CDEX are available through an online database managed by Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
IODP curation team at KCC will copy xCT DICOM file and send it to a requester, if amount of total size of data files are quite large to be downloaded from SIO7 data-center.
JAMSTEC disseminates the data and samples that have been obtained via its research cruises.
The Data Research for Whole Cruise Information in JAMSTEC (DARWIN) has been opened. As of now the data of years 2009 and later is available. Although the JAMSTEC Data Site for Research Cruises was suspended to be updated, data of years 2008 and earlier is still opened on the Data Site for Research Cruises. Remaining data will be transferred to DARWIN.(October 15, 2012) It contains data obtained by the following Chikyu expeditions:
On the Data Research for Whole Cruise Information (DARWIN) the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Sciences (JAMSTEC) disseminates data and sample information obtained by its research vessels and submersibles. It contains data obtained by the following Chikyu expeditions:
JAMSTEC Data Search Portal is an entrance to such oceanographic/terrestrial observation data and sample information in JAMSTEC. Users are able to search JAMSTEC's research activities or data/samples across those data sites or databases by area, period or variables. This portal provides links to the data publication pages from search results.
